You Use Lumo for Privacy. Are Your Postcards Private Too?
Like Lumo, Mango Postal puts privacy first. We believe your postcard and personal details should stay as private as possible.
This post explains how we handle your photos, messages and addresses, and what we do to keep them safe.
How we keep your postcard private
We follow four rules:
- Ask for as little as possible. No required account, no profile, no tracking cookies.
- Use it only for your order. We use your photos and message only to print and mail your card.
- Delete it fast. We aim to erase your photos, messages and addresses within 30 days of mailing.
- Never sell or share it. We don't sell your information or share it outside of what is necessary to fulfil the order.
Mango Postal is run by two friends who care about privacy, and that shaped how we built this service.
What we collect and how long we keep it
Sending a postcard doesn't need an account, so we only ask for what the order needs.
| What we collect | Why we need it | How long we keep it |
|---|---|---|
| Your photos and message | To print your postcard | 30 days, in case we need to reprint |
| Recipient's name and address | To mail it | 30 days, in case we need to reprint |
| Your email | To confirm your order and reply to you | Kept with your order record |
| Your name and return address | Only if you choose to add them | 30 days, in case we need to reprint |
| Order number and payment confirmation (from Stripe) | Payment and accounting records | Kept for accounting purposes |
| How you found us (the site or link) | To learn which links bring people here | Aggregates are kept, individual data is not |
| Unpaid or abandoned postcards | Nothing, once you leave | 60 days |

A few other details:
- Your drafts live on your device. The postcard you're building is saved in your own browser, not on our servers. It stays there until you delete it or clear your browser data.
- We never see your card number. Payments go straight to Stripe and never touch our servers.
- Your card travels sealed. Every postcard is mailed inside an envelope, so your photo and message stay private until your recipient opens it.
A free envelope with every postcard
Every Mango Postal postcard is mailed in a premium envelope at no extra cost. It keeps your photo and message private until your recipient opens it, and it helps protect the card in the mail.
A postcard mailed on its own can be read by anyone who handles it along the way. Some postcard services offer an envelope only as a paid add-on. At Mango Postal, the envelope is included in the CA$4.99 price because we value your privacy.
Send a postcard
Upload a photo, write a message, and we'll print and mail your postcard anywhere in Canada or the US for CA$4.99. No account is required.

FAQ
What data do postcard apps collect?
To print and mail a card, a service needs your photos, your message and the recipient's address, plus an email to confirm the order. Mango Postal asks for nothing more: no required account, no profile and no tracking cookies.
Does Mango Postal store your photos?
Only as long as your order needs them. We use your photos and message only to print your card, and we aim to erase them, along with addresses, within 30 days of mailing in case a reprint is needed. Drafts you're still building stay in your own browser, not on our servers. Details are in our privacy policy.
Can the mail carrier read your postcard?
A postcard mailed on its own can be read by anyone who handles it along the way. Every Mango Postal postcard is mailed inside a free envelope, so your photo and message stay private until your recipient opens it.
